These two volcanic mountains are a must-see landmark for any St. Lucia visitor.

St. John is a tiny island in the U.S. Virgin Islands, and visiting here feels like a true retreat. Most of the island is a protected Natural Park, and the rest feels like a true island village. You’ll take a ferry from St. Thomas to reach St. John, but Americans won’t need a passport or a currency exchange to travel here, making your visit here a little simpler.

St. John’s humble size and scenic simplicity are all part of its charm – but it also means there are no five-star resorts on this island. Lots of couples opt for a private vacation rental, but we also love the design and space available at The Westin St. John Resort Villas.

There’s not a ton to do on St. John USVI, which is perfect for couples who simply want to enjoy the scenery and each other’s company. You’ll still be able to enjoy great dining (complete with cocktails and reggae music), and get in a bit of shopping too.
- Relax on the beach, and then relax on another beach the next day too. Maho Bay Beach is one of our favorites.
- Drive along the North Shore Road and enjoy the island’s incredible sights, like palm trees and unique rock formations.
- Visit neighboring islands like St. Thomas or the British Virgin Islands by booking a spot on a catamaran tour.
9. Curacao
Curacao is a vibrant island full of culture and adventure. There’s lots to do on this Dutch Caribbean island, but you’ll also want to plan for time on the beach, simply enjoying its turquoise waters and endless sunshine.
Where to Say: Sandals Royal Curaçao
There are several five-star resorts across Curacao, including great all-inclusive packages. We’re partial toward the swim-up butler bungalows at Sandals Royal Curacao since they offer such a luxe, unique experience.

Curacao is a great place to visit if you enjoy walking through vibrant streets, relaxing on pristine beaches, and enjoying unique dining.
- Explore Willemstad, a UNESCO World Heritage Site with colorful buildings and an amazing pedestrian bridge.
- Have a private dinner on the beach at the Avila Beach Hotel.
- Go snorkeling in its glistening waters. We recommend Playa Lagun for excellent snorkeling conditions.
10. Nevis
St. Kitts and Nevis is a charming small island nation that you’ll absolutely love. While both of its two islands are wonderful, we love Nevis for its Four Seasons Resort and quaint charm.

Few resorts embody a spirit of romance and luxury like the Four Seasons. Their Nevis property feels like a secluded paradise thanks to its pristine landscaping and unbeatable location. Guest rooms are simple yet luxurious, but their pool suites are totally splurge-worthy.

Despite its small size, there is quite a bit to do in Nevis, which will allow you and your sweetheart to enjoy unique excursions while also getting plenty of relaxation.
