Caribbean Resorts and Villas Large Groups will Love

Bahamas

Atlantis, Bahamas

Atlantis in the Bahamas is perfect for a multigenerational family vacation because there are activities that cater to all ages. You also have the option to just relax at one of the property’s 11 pools or 2 beaches. There is no need to leave the resort!

Both kids and adults will love the Aquaventure water park. There are slides of varying thrill levels. Only the bravest will attempt the “Leap of Faith” which goes straight down and through the shark tank. Everyone can enjoy the lazy river or playing in the waves.

Atlantis Bahamas-Kids Are A Trip

Atlantis Resort has more to offer than just water activities! Their aquarium, called the Dig, is definitely worth a visit. Families can race in the Atlantis Speedway, a remote controlled car facility. There is also an arcade. For adults, there is the casino, comedy club, and nightclub.

When it comes to meal time, there are many restaurants to choose from at the resort. Several offer special child menus.

If you need some kid-free time, those 3-12 years old can head to Atlantis Kids Adventure. In the evenings, those ages 9 -12 can hang out at Club Rush.

To get to Atlantis, you can take a taxi for around $35 from Nassau airport (NAS). Ground transportation can also be booked through the resort, but that will be more expensive. Anisa of Traveling Texans

Turks and Caicos

Beaches, Turks and Caicos

Beaches Turks and Caicos is the gold standard for family resorts, not just in the Caribbean, but anywhere in the world! Located on world-famous Grace Bay, Beaches has calm surf perfect for kids, a huge beachfront with plenty of space, and the most comprehensive kids club I have ever seen. They even offer nanny services for infants!

Beaches has several pools, a splash pad, a lazy river, waterslides, and plenty of entertainment for older kids with snorkeling, kayaking, a surf simulator and a swim-up kids bar.

The kids club is over-the-top with activities including snorkeling, soccer and visits from Sesame Street characters. It is not the kind of kids club where the kids stay in one place the whole time. It is also open late to allow parents to enjoy a nice dinner if they wish. For older kids, there is an Xbox lounge and a kids’ disco.

When it comes to the rooms, there is everything from a basic room with a balcony to a beachfront house with butler service. There is every level of service you can want.

If you have forgotten anything, you can probably buy it on-site in their large souvenir shop.

The one downside to Beaches Turks and Caicos is that it is HUGE. It can take a long time to walk from one end to the other. They do offer a golf cart service, but we generally walked.

If you do want to leave the resort, there are trips to other beaches, but there are not a lot of other things to do on the island, activity wise.

Top Tip: Try breakfast at a different restaurant each day, as their buffet style menus are all a bit different. Also do not be afraid to ask for something if you do not see it. They might just be able to make it for you. Lindsay of Carpe Diem Our Way Travel

To reach the hotel you can take the free hotel shuttle from Providenciales International Airport (PLS).

Puerto Rico

Fairmont El San Juan, San Juan, Puerto Rico

There are multiple restaurants and bars at El San Juan, and in-room dining is available as well. Guest rooms do not have kitchens. El San Juan has five dining venues, each with their own unique atmosphere and menu offerings.

When adults need some time to relax, head to the Well & Being Spa on site or head into Old San Juan, where you can stroll through cobblestone streets and tour historical forts.

Adventure lovers can visit Toroverde and zip line over 1.5 miles at speeds up to 60 miles per hour over the vibrant Puerto Rican countryside.

Art lovers can visit El Museo de Arte de Ponce, one of the best museums in the Americas, with a distinctive collection of pre-Raphaelite art and modern Latin American artists.

Nature lovers can visit El Yunque National Forest, the only tropical rainforest in the United States, or enjoy the gorgeous sand on Luquillo Beach. There are plenty of things to do in Puerto Rico, so families will have no problem keeping themselves entertained.

Top tip: If you want to spend time together on a group tour, consider booking a San Juan food tour. We guarantee it’s perfect for all ages!

The resort has a PADI dive center, kayaks and paddle boards available to use, and guests can book catamaran and snorkeling tours on-site. Mangrove Beach is part of the Curio Collection by Hilton, which is great news for loyal Hilton members.

It’s an easy 10-15 minute walk to Willemstad should you need to leave the resort, but with all of these amenities, why would you ever want to leave?

Anguilla

Frangipani Beach Resort

Located on Mead’s Bay, Frangipani Beach Resort is a family owned boutique property offering 19 rooms of various sizes to accommodate multigenerational families. Those wanting to keep everyone under the same roof can rent the resort’s 4 bedroom villa where everyone can have their space.

One of the best things about Frangipani is their personalized experiences. Families can work with the hotel concierge to craft an itinerary tailored to your group’s wants and needs. Younger children might enjoy pool and beach time, where older kids might prefer the basketball or tennis courts.

All ages will love the complimentary water sports, including kayaking, sailing on a Hobie Cat, or even water skiing! The kids will never complain of boredom here!

If your family is looking for intimate Caribbean resorts and villas for celebrating your next family get together, head to Frangipani, you won’t be disappointed!

Caribbean Resorts and Villas in Jamaica

Round Hill Hotel and Villas, Jamaica

With a selection of three villa and four villa suite types, Round Hill accommodations include fine amenities such as private pools, guest houses, and event lawns.

Within each complete villa are individual suites which may be reserved should your party not desire a complete villa. For more information on the complete villas, please click here.

Multigenerational families visiting Round Hill will not be bored. The resort offers everything from snorkeling, kayaking, and sailing to golf and tennis. There is nightly entertainment at the resort with each day bringing a different theme.

Those visiting with young children will appreciate the extensive family programming and kids-only activities. The Pineapple Kids Club and 7-Up club have daily programs with different crafts and games, as well as an opportunity to play outside and explore the resort’s 110 acres.

When adults need some alone time, they won’t want to miss Round Hill’s spa with a full-service salon, state-of-the-art fitness center, open-air yoga pavilion, and relaxing pool.

There are multiple dining options at Round Hill, including The Grill, The Restaurant at Round Hill, Seaside Terrace, as well as Beach and Pool Bar. Most of the complete villas feature kitchens, where personal villa chefs can prepare made-to-order meals.

To reach Round Hill, you can book a private car through the resort or rent a car. It will take 20 minutes to reach the resort from Sangster Airport (MBJ).

Moon Palace, Jamaica

Moon Palace Jamaica is ideal for families of all ages. The resort offers multiple room types, including some amazing suites, as well as a variety of service package levels. But the big draw for multigenerational families will be all of the activities available on site.

For those looking for fun, the resort offers four pools spread across the resort including an adults only pool, and a family pool with waterslide and nearby splash pad. The kid’s clubs are also located near the family pool area. The resort also has a Flowrider, a wave generator that lets kids and adults try surfing, or even bodyboarding.

If you’re look for a little more relaxation, the Moon Palace Jamaica has a beautiful cove beach with plenty of lounge chairs. And, this resort has one of the best spas I’ve ever experienced. Your spa treatment starts with a water journey experience that helps you relax and prepare for your pampering treatment.

Lastly, the resort has eight different restaurants from fine dining to pizza on the pier, making it easy for families to find food that will appeal to everyone! Large families should definitely make a reservation at Momo, the resort’s hibachi grill restaurant which can seat nine at one grill table.

Top tip: My biggest tip would be to allow time to enjoy the property, but also splurge and book a private driver or tour to some of the popular things to do in Ocho Rios

We loved our time off-property including ziplining on Mystic Mountain, taking a cooking class at Yaaman Adventure Park, and of course hiking up Dunn’s River Falls – although that’s not recommended for young children or older adults with mobility issues as it’s slippery and a bit dangerous.

The Moon Palace is located in Ocho Rios, which is about an hour and a half from the Montego Bay Sangster International Airport (MBJ). You can book a bus transfer with the Moon Palace or hire a private driver if you want to avoid the bus system.

Whether you want to hit the beach, sit by one of the many pools or swim laps in your pool front suite, this hotel will thrill all ages.

No matter the ages you travel with, Nickelodeon has the space, amenities and activities you need to keep everyone happy. Grandparents can get downtime away from the crowds with their own rooms or in a family villa.

The restaurants have a huge array of food options and locations throughout the property, catering to babies on up through grandparents. High chairs are available everywhere, along with Character meals where kids can get some one on one time with their favorite Nickelodeon and Nick Jr. friends.

The resort water park, Aqua Nick, is across the street from the main resort, along with Club Nick, the kids club, leaving the resort nice and quiet so you can soak in those ocean sounds you crave.

Also across from the resort you will find the Sports Hub, where they can play tennis, archery, basketball, soccer, giant chess, or stay inside playing ping-pong, foosball or chatting with new friends in the lounge. This is perfect for active kids, teens and parents looking to find their own spot.

There is also a fitness center on site where you can take multiple classes, including yoga, aqua fit, Zumba, dance classes, beach volleyball or even join in some beach runs in the morning. Spanish classes and cooking classes are also available on site and should definitely be taken advantage of while visiting. Off-site, the resort concierge can book you a tee time at nearby golf courses, organize diving and snorkeling trips or deep sea fishing for the whole family. Keryn of Walking on Travels

Top tip: Don’t skip the spa, where parents and grandparents can get pampered, or you can do a little mommy and me spa session.

How to reach the property: Book an airport shuttle or transportation through the resort in advance if possible. Taxis and rental cars are available. The ride from Punta Cana airport (PUJ) takes about 35 minutes.

Dreams Royal Beach, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Formerly Now Larimar, Dreams Royal Beach has undergone a complete facelift. This is a family-friendly resort with activities and facilities for all ages. With multiple pools, a private beach, and swim-up bars, you can spend a different day at each one.

There is an Explorer’s Club for kids and teens can enjoy Core Zone. Babysitting is available when the adults want some grown-up time together.

The resort features four restaurants offering different cuisines and dining options. And best of all, there is evening entertainment each night with dancing, shows and games, and lights displays.

Top tip: The best thing about this resort is that it has everything you could possibly want at the resort, making it an easy option if travelling with young children or older family members who may not want to do a lot of day trips.

However, if you are wanting to do a day trip, Monkeyland is an exciting bus tour into the jungle where you will learn about how coffee is made, before meeting the cutest squirrel monkeys. Holly at Four Around the World

To reach Dreams Royal Beach from the Punta Cana airport you can arrange private transfer through the hotel or take a taxi. It takes about 20 minutes to reach the property.

Radisson Blu Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

The newly opened Radisson Blu Punta Cana is one of the few Radisson Blu properties to offer all-inclusive service. There are endless opportunities for children and adults to have fun together on-site, meaning you never have to leave the property!

Rooms are particularly well suited for multigenerational travel. They offer 2 and 3 room suites that are basically apartments. Each unit has a washer and dryer, meaning you can pack less! There are full kitchens as well, basically giving you all the benefits of an apartment with the amenities of an all-inclusive resort. The two and three bedroom suites also have a dining area, and for an extra fee you can choose to have on of the hotel’s chefs come to your room and cook a family meal there.

Radisson Blu Punta Cana-Kids Are A Trip

In terms of activities, Radisson Blu Punta Cana has a Kids Club for younger children with daily activities like games and crafts. And there are also activities suited for the whole family, including dancing lessons, beach volleyball and floating fitness. There’s also family-friendly pool parties and nightly shows. Adults may enjoy yoga, guided meditation or CrossFit lessons. One activity that the whole family can do together is cooking classes, and best of all, it’s free!

To reach the property, you can take a 15 minute taxi ride from the Punta Cana airport or arrange transportation in advance with the hotel.

Royalton, Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Royalton Punta Cana is an all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, one of the most popular holiday destinations in the Caribbean. It is perfect for a multigenerational family vacation as it combines the luxury of Royalton Punta Cana with the kid-friendly amenities of neighboring Royalton Splash.

The main section of Royalton Punta Cana has 317 rooms, which makes it one of the smaller resorts in Punta Cana. It is located at Arena Gorda Beach, where the whole family can enjoy one of Punta Cana’s beautiful beaches.

Those looking for some comfort and recreation can relax in the luxury suites, the well-maintained pool area or the several bars with premium drinks. If parents or grandparents would like to enjoy further quality time, they can use the spa or book a romantic dinner.

For dining, families can choose from the buffet restaurant and 4 a la carte restaurants at Royalton Punta Cana, as well as 3 further restaurants at neighboring Royalton Splash.

Royalton Splash is also home to the huge water park, which the kids will love, as it is one of the largest in the entire Caribbean. It features an amazing array of water games and slides, among them a monster waterslide, a black-hole slide as well as kamikaze and multi-lane waterslides.

Top tip: leave the resort for a few day trips and explore the many hidden gems Punta Cana has to offer. My recommendation for families is Montaña Redonda for an off-the-beaten-track adventure or Scape Park Cap Cana for a family amusement park.

Pro tip: if Royalton Punta Cana doesn’t fit your budget, you can also book Royalton Splash, which is a cheaper all-inclusive resort, as quality and services are a little bit below Royalton Punta Cana.

Royalton Punta Cana is just a 30-minute drive away from Punta Cana International Airport. Chris from Punta Cana Travel Blog
