There’s shopping galore – mainstream, high-end, and local brands abound. Plus, it’s so easy to have a spa weekend at the day spas and resorts.
Watch a live baseball game as you float through a lazy river, have a night out in Frisco’s Rail District, visit a historic farmstead, and explore downtown Plano. One of our favorite things about these cities is that downtown Dallas is a short drive away, in case you want to check out any of the city’s top spots.

11. Grapevine
Grapevine might be known as the “Christmas Capital of Texas”, but it’s also the perfect place for your Texas girlfriend getaway. Located less than 10 minutes from DFW Airport, it’s an easy place to reach if your friends are traveling from out of state.
Throughout the year the city has some epic festivals including Grape Fest and Main Street Fest. There are winery tasting rooms lining Main Street and an urban wine trail you can explore any time of year.
Other fun things to do include Grapevine Lake (perfect for hiking or a day out on the water), shopping on Main Street, or taking a ride on the Grapevine Vintage Railroad.
